I am the executive director of the Center for Freshwater Research and Education (previously Aquatic Research Lab) and a professor in the School of Natural Resources and Environment at Lake Superior State University. My research interests are broadly focused on managing and conserving freshwater resources, and I'm passionate about engaging undergraduate students in the scientific process to create better citizens, managers, and scientists. In recent years, much of my time has been focused on designing, funding, and planning our new Richard and Theresa Barch Center for Freshwater Research and Education building that was opened in December 2021.
