After our little kayak adventure we went to the underwater observatory and got to see the ocean that we were just kayaking above. There were corals, little fish, big fish and sea anemones, starfish, sea cucumbers and shrimp. After that we hopped back on the boat for our return trip to the shore, this time the captain sang happy birthday to me (Mary). After we got back to shore we had a few minutes to change into dry clothes then we had the return bus ride to Te Anua. Just before we passed through the mountain a second time we saw 6 Kea birds. They are rather large and very smart. They like to eat the rubber off car windows, so they can become a nuisance if people feed them. It was a rather quiet ride back to Te Anua, most of us slept or tried to. When we approached the town our coach driver Stewart had a little fun waking us up and made a noise that sounded like a strangled rooster. We went to the Ranch Bar and Grill for dinner and had Roast Lamb for dinner.
